tranny neutral bombs??
gotta problem with my transmission. my setup is a 355 sbc approx 400 h.p. 3000 hughes stall convertor, and a 700r4 trans with a transgo shift kit, rebuild, corvette servo, 7 vane changed to a 10 vane. the problem im having is that when im at a dead stop, i mash the gas and it shifts threw 1-2 fine but as soon as it hits 2-3 geAr it acts as if its in neutral. is my tv cable out of wack? im outa ideas on what to do. when i do moderate take offs i have no problems with it shifting into 3rd, only from a dead stop mash. any ideas or help?

Mis adjusted TV cable gives early / delayed shift ; not no shift

Actually, if it shifts firmly into 2nd, the band is likely O.K. The slippage into 3rd could be the direct (forward) clutch stack or the hydraulics which actuate it. Not knowing which version shift kit may have been installed there may also be some issues with the 3-4 accumulator and springs, and in your case, the 2/4 servo also acts as the 3rd accumulator. With the wrong springs and smaller piston of a fancy "corvette" servo you sacrifice some accumulated fluid for the 2-3 shift.
Burned fiber in the pan and filter would tend to indicate a clutch issue, while fine metal would tend to indicate a sprag clutch issue. Remember that there is always some contamination in the pan from normal wear, so you would be seeking something abnormal. If there doesn't appear to be abnormal wear remnants in the pan and filter the valving and mainshaft seals are more suspect.
The TV cable and plunger work with the governor to regulate hydraulic line pressure. You can connect a test gauge to the port on the left side and try to diagnose the TV and governor action.
