Can't find a flywheel for my application
I am having trouble finding a flywheel for my motor build. It is a 86 up, 1 piece rear main seal, 153 tooth, internal balance flywheel. I can't find one that anybody sells. Has anybody out there had to purchase one of these? If so where did you get it?

Isn't that like a faily comon flywheel? I don't remember at the moment, but is 153 tooth the stock size? if it is, I've seen them at Jegs, summit, and I'm sure other places, not to mention all the yards that might have one.

I still can not find one. The only ones that I can find are 153 tooth internal balance with a 2 piece rear main seal and a 153 tooth external balance with a 1 piece rear main seal. Neither will work though, I need a 153 tooth, internal, 1 piece rms.

What makes you think you need an internal balance flywheel???
Is this for a stock replacement, on a stock motor????
I found your other post, now I know why you are looking for the flywheel.............I would suggest that you "search the net" and contact one of the companies that market these kits, and ask them on their tech line, what they would recommend!!
Doesn't hurt to ask!!

If you really believe you need a true neutral balance 1 pcs flywheel then buy a 1 pce seal one to suit your engine and get it zero balanced

I don't get it. A stock flywheel, like the one I just looked up on Rock auto for a 88 Camaro is one pices seal, and nuetral balanced. Am I missing something here. All 305 and 350's are internally balanced - right? The only external balance is 383-400.

It's a problem with convention. Some consider the one-piece RMS flywheels to be "external" balance because they aren't "neutral" balanced. Others refer to them properly as "internal balance" because the damper on the front of the engine is neutral balanced.
Just buy it for 305/350 one-piece rear main seal and you'll be fine.
