Will my 21 lb. injectors be ok for now??
Hello. I have a 87 TPI motor in my IROC. Mods so far to motor are; 6A MSD, Headers, 40 Flowmaster, Venom 21 lb injectors,(upgrading to 30 lb. asap as recomended by fuel injector connection; I hope hes right) adjustable fuel pressure reg., fresh rebuilt (roughly 5 to 6000 miles on it) 040. flat top pistons around 9.5 or 10:1 compression, stock chip(getting one from PCMforless asap) no cat, AIR, or smog pump stuff, 1.6 roller rockers. Ok so now I have my AFR #1041 195 eliminator street heads and COMP 280XFI roller cam sitting here in front of me begging and taunting me, along with this sudden warm sunny weather and local track just opening, to be put on. But its going to be a while b4 I can get the injectors and reprogramed chip that I need to go with it. Soooo, Im going to go ahead and put the heads and cam on but I was wanting to ask someone here if the 21 lb. injectors would cause a lean condition and blow my motor? I do have the AFPR and have it turned up to 45psi im pretty shure and I dont plan on running it really hard till I get the chip and injectors and our track is short a little less than 1/8. I also do some of my daily driving chores in it but thats about it. What do you guys think??????

Re: Will my 21 lb. injectors be ok for now??
Is it even possable to lean a TPI motor out with a 280XFI cam and AFR1041 heads? Is there any way to tell if the motor is too lean besids looking aty the plugs? As you all know the fuel injection motors all look kinda lean to me lol. I know I can hook up a aldl tester and start it and tell if its lean or rich by the way the ses light flashes but I dont know if it will tell me how lean. Any Ideas anyone? I would hate to blow my killer 350 TPI that I love so much waiting on 30LB injectors? Anyone have ANY ideas?????

I wouldn't think it would be a problem for daily driving, but someone else with more knowledge/experience should chime in.
The only way to know how lean is with a wideband O2 sensor set-up.
