92 Firebird 305 TBI crank but won't start
I picked up a 92 Firebird 305 TBI the other day. My problem i am having is the car will crank but not start up. when i turn the key on the fuel pump with prime up but won't turn off after two seconds. I have 13 psi steady pressure. Rebuilt the Throttle bodies but still have old injectors in it. Fuses are good and the tried a different Fuel Pump Relay to see if that would work. Tried it in nuetral and park. Has a new battery, distributor and rotor.
Going to try new spark plugs and wires because i have them sitting here.
Im pretty confused as to what i should look at next.
oh and when i have key off the manual says to push on accelerator peddle to see if fuel sprays and it doesn't not.
any ideas would be very appreciated because this is my only ride to work and i am tired of walking lol.

If that engine fires when you put a tsp, or so of gas down the throttles then you have a fuel starvation problem. This rules out the ignition so don't even mess with it. If you have fuel pressure to the TBI then this rules out the pump. Check all your electrical connectors to the TBI, you might even be able to check your codes by jumpering your ALDL and see how many flashes you get on the Service Engine Soon light (SES), and that might give you some info on whats wrong.

You could borrow some of the test kits from Oreilly and see if the TBIs' are getting signals pulses from the ignition module. I found on my 89 GTA, we had turned the distributor coil so far in setting the timing that the plug came out of the ignition module. Plugged it back in and the car ran fine.

so i just looked at the lights when i turn the key on the SES light doesn't even light up. and if i jumper A and B to see if i can get codes it won't light up either. but if i crank it a min and let the key go to back to run it will flash twice then turn off

yeah looks like its plugged in correctly. i just hooked a test light up to the injectors on the throttle body and the light doesn't go off when key is turned over. the pump doesnt' turn off after 2 seconds when pressurized and the SES doesn't flash unless you turn the car over and let go to run position. i think im at a ECM issue. is that a good assumption?

I have the same problem with my 89 Bird, if you figure out whats wrong please let me know! Im getting pissed because i cant figure it out. Ive replaced the spark plugs, oil, and fuel pump. Not sure if im getting fuel pressure through the lines. How could i check that without a pressure gauge?
