so one of my friends put his 350 back tgether, it was a compltete long block when he got it, he took the heads, timing chain, pulled the came out. Now he put the cam back in, also the timing chain na nd didnt mark anything and doesnt wana pull it apart. after reinstalling that he now rotated the crank so it was at tdc. Will it run or no???

lol if he didnt at least line up timming gears i would be willing to bet it is atleast a 180 deg out im betting on it will not run need to pull back apart and dial in cam and aline timmg gears

 

so even if he put the dist. 180 outt still wouldnt run???

 

if the cam and crank are not lined up, you're looking at destroying that motor. do not start the engine until you pull the timing cover and line the cam and crank gears. does not matter where the distributor is, you will break stuff.

 

Better spend an hour or so taking the front cover off now because you will be doing it later with some bent valves at the very least. My .
