WHAT REPLACEs CRANE CAM 2032??
I've got a stock 305 with an RV CAM in my 1988 GTA, and wanted to upgrade to the 2032, but Crane Cams are no more. Does COMP CAM make a comparable cam?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Jeff

Have you considered a Lunati?

I'm sure Comp makes some comparable cams too.

RS 91. Thanks, No I haven't looked at lunatipower. I'm not sure that the one you attached will work with my stock engine. What are you thoughts?

Re: WHAT REPLACEs CRANE CAM 2032??
I had been looking at them before so I which is why I brought it up. I sent you a link to the cam with the closest specs as the crane 2032. It's probably as big as you can go with the stock heads if you replace the springs and get a good tune. If you are worried about clearance issues you may need to step down to a cam with < .450 lift. Have you considered a used LT1 cam? They may not have the duration your looking for, but $50 vs $350 is quite a price difference and it should be a step up from what you have now.
Here is a smaller one.

What are the specs on the current RV cam you have now?

I think some years are slightly different like the 96 has slightly more duration.

CRANE IS BACK

Ignore the rumor mill. Crane Cams is back. It’s up and running again under the same name, and while the facility has a new address, the reborn company is still in the Daytona Beach, Florida area. I just bumped into Chase Knight at Crane’s booth during the recent IMIS show in Indy. I’ll provide more on this as info unfolds. It’s great to see that the company and name is alive, and under the direction of the same talented folks. They’re continuing their product lines and still make camshaft cores as well. Sometimes, justice prevails. And with guys like Chase still running the show, you know that product quality will be first rate. Welcome back, guys!
Here’s Crane’s new contact info:

S&S Cycle, based in Viola, Wis., acquired Crane's intellectual properties, patents, trademarks, camshaft masters, inventory and some equipment...
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Performance industry icon Crane Cams has re-opened under the new ownership of S&S Cycle, and is actively engaged in manufacturing and sales operations of its ignition and motorcycle lines. The company, founded by Harvey J. Crane in 1953, is now housed in a facility at 1640 Mason Ave. in Daytona Beach, just a few miles from its former facility. A number of long-term Crane employees have joined the revitalized company and more personnel will be added as more operations get back online, said the company.
S&S Cycle, based in Viola, Wis., acquired Crane’s intellectual properties, patents, trademarks, camshaft masters, inventory and some equipment in April. S&S is best known for its broad line of components for V-Twin motorcycle applications. The 50-year-old company, owned by George Smith, boasts extensive R&D and manufacturing capabilities, including a complete in-house 50-state Emissions Certification Lab.
Crane Product Manager Terry Johnson, a 12-year vet, said, “We have already ramped up production of the motorcycle valve train and ignition products, as well as the automotive ignition line. Many of the top NASCAR teams use Crane ignition products, so maintaining continuity for these customers is top priority.”
Production of automotive valve train components may take longer. Chase Knight, who has more than 40 years of Crane experience, has resumed his role as Valve Train product manager. According to Knight, “While we know the market is very hungry for our cam and valve train product lines, we want to make sure the parts we ship exceed the quality and performance expectations of our customers. At this point we can’t put firm timeline as to when everything will be fully up to speed. We want to be sure to get this right!”
Many of the experienced techs who have helped racers over the years are back on the phones and can be reached toll-free at 866-388-5120, or 386-628-0197 locally.
