comp XE268

Was wondering if this would be an alright choice and still be a DD. Car 84 z28 l69 H.O. Current mods: Holley 670 street avenger, Hedman LT's, full 3 inch exhaust, performer rpm intake. Should have the #416 casting heads. I was looking at these cams. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-CL12-210-2/ or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-CL12-242-2/ Wasn't sure if these would pull to much vacuum for a DD and typical stuff like that.

re: comp XE268

I have the second cam with shorty's, 600 holley, and the rest is the same. It drives fine and plenty of vaccum. I have a 2400 holeshot nitrous torque convertor and could use one a little bit bigger with my 3.23 gears. Kinda lazy off the line but likes nitrous.

re: comp XE268

The lift clearance was ok I'm assuming without having to rework the heads. Also, have you made any passes 1/8th or 1/4th with that setup, or dynoed it?

re: comp XE268

Yeah there were no clearance issues. I did have aftermarket springs that had came with my Summit TPI cam set. I have a few threads about my setup.

re: comp XE268

Nice Thank you for the info. I Don't mind the being lazy off the line. I have a T-5 and I'm not looking to grenade it. lol. I'm sure my 3.73's will help out also. I now have higher hopes for my little 305. I was shooting for 13's but if I can get into the 12's with a 150 shot at the strip I'd be a happy camper.

Re: comp XE268

Yeah with a T-5 and 3.73's it should be better off the line.
