Belt Alignment

I have the v-belt set up. I took out the a/c. Do I need to put in a spacer behind the power steering bracket because the p/s pulley is out of alignment. I attached the best pick I could take.
Thanks for any help!!

Re: Belt Alignment

So long as you have one belt that lines up nicely, and is tensioned properly, you should be ok. Don't really need two on there, as most cars used only one to drive it in any event.

Re: Belt Alignment

Stick some spacers behind the brakets to move it to where you need it to be.

Do you have both serpentine, AND v-belts there? W/P, Alt, and crank pulleys look to be Serp set up?

Re: Belt Alignment

when you get it lined up, let me know how the tension is. i took the a/c out of mine, and for some reason the powersteering belt seems a bit loose

Re: Belt Alignment

I had some problems with my ps pulley when i got the car, there was no A/C and the the PS belt was to small and the brackets ended up crooked. I ended up just getting a bigger belt and putting a spacer behind the bracket.
