Timing Chain
Hi,
I have an 82 Firebird with the 2.8L V6 engine. I was wondering after how many thousand miles does the timing chain need to be changed. It doesn't say on the owners manual. I also have a Haynes manual and it doesn't say on that either.
If someone can let me know would appriecate it,
Thanks.

Re: Timing Chain
80,000 to 100,000 miles
the V6 2.8 had head sealing problems after 80,000 miles leaving water in the oil, my Blazer with a V6 2.8 got water in the oil at 86,000, when U do the Timing chain do Head gaskets also

Re: Timing Chain
There is 82,000 on the car so I guess it is time to start thinking about doing it. So far the head is okay but thanks for your advice.
