Does my car even have a MAF sensor?
I am unsure whether or not my car has a MAF sensor. Can anyone show me where this is located? I thought if you have a MAP sensor you do not have a MAF sensor, well my car has a MAP sensor. 1989 Camaro RS Vert 350/T-5
Reason I ask is I got the code 33 thrown at me.

Probably not if it's not a tune port intake system. More than likely a tbi throttle body (looks like a 2 barrell carb).

If its an '85-89 TPI, then yes it should have one. If its a '90-92 TPI or any year TBI or carb, then no it won't have it.
If you have the '85-89 TPI mentioned above, then it will be 'spliced' into the rubber intake duct somewhere between the air filter housing and the throttle body.

Alright, so it is a TBI so there for no. So why am I getting an error code saying that my MAF is failing?

Re: Does my car even have a MAF sensor?
if you have a 350 then you have tpi not tbi.
the maf sensor is located immediately behind the throttle body at the juncture with the plenum. it is a wire that has to get hot so that it can measure mass air flow.
hope i said that right.

Re: Does my car even have a MAF sensor?
then its not stock - and air had it right between the air cleaner and throttle body.
every 350 came with tpi - look here https://www.thirdgen.org/1989-chevy-camaro.
so someone has made some changes to your setup.
you got it right AIR i was wrong on the location. senior moment.
maybe that is why you are getting a maf error - its the original computer ecm - and its looking for one because the programing says too.

Re: Does my car even have a MAF sensor?
From GM yes, but that was 20 years ago... maybe the 305 was changed out for a 350 at some point? Doesn't matter anyway, as far as his problem goes.
If you have a TBI setup (looks like a 2bbl carb) then you would want to get a trouble code definition list for a 305 TBI of whatever year your car is. Some lists will combine definitions (ie. XX code - _____ for TPI, _____ for TBI) even though it may not actually say "for this motor"... it may just have two different definitions, and you have to decide which one 'matches' the car.
