Re: Wat BranD of PLugs are good for a tune uP?

alright it doesnt smoke because of oil quality...

you probably need new valve seals or even possibly new rings...

as far as brands its kind of a cost thing and kind of a preference thing

I only use valvoline oil and ac delco plugs. oil filter is napa gold or ac delco
air filters you can use any paper filter because the only advantage of k and n filters for your intake is that theyre reusable... I use napa gold
for your motor conventional 5-30 is best and I would suggest adding lucas oil treatment since you have so many miles...

Just please dont put bosch plugs in it , ive heard of these things actually breaking the tip off and causing piston damage. I use 10-30 valvoline, ac delco plugs, puralotor filter, and as for your blue smoke id bet its you 20yr old valve seals. Not a big issue about a 300 dollar repair at a shop or if you know what your doing about a half a day in the driveway and bout 20 bucks.

Best Plugs to use are Taylor Sprial Pro used them all my life.

5-30 valvoline is the best oil to use for that car always used it my car and it 121,000 and with somehting that old probally wouldnt hurt to put some slick 50 in there and the smoking is more than likley just some bad valve seats but it might be the rings and best air filter is K&N cause they are reusable and AC DELCO are some pretty good plugs

NGK plugs work alright too, if you're burning oil i'd suggest getting fine wire plugs because they're less prone to fouling.

slick 50 is snake oil, crap IMO if your going to use any treatment use lucas or engine restore, slick 50 IMO is to expensive for what it is

i dont know about 5w30 in a high mile engine, id run atleast 10w30 brand is up to you, just not quaker mistake

there used to be infomecials where they would put slick 50 on a sheet of metal and put a torch under it and it would go toward the heat, they also drained the oil out of a car with slick 50 in it and it ran for a while or what ever, but i seen engines with lucas in them that after being drained for weeks, you take them apart and lucas is coating everything so i really like it
