Stuff in the Fuel Tank

Stuff in the Fuel Tank
So please help if you can.
I was having a hard time with my 83 Camaro, I could drive it but shortly after it would sputter and die, as if it was flooding. I thought it was the Carb, per some family advise, so i had my Carb rebuilt. They guy that did it said it was full of crap so it was good to clean it out.
I took it, ran great for about 30 min then the same thing. Wen and replaced the fuel pump and filter, plugs and wires, still acted as if it was flooding. I never smelled gas so i did not think i was flooding.
Finally took it to a friend who looked at it and he found more stuff in the carb. The only thing i can think of is the gas tank has crap in it.
How would i clean and reseal my tank? or would it be better to get a new one?

Re: Stuff in the Fuel Tank
To clean the tank you'd have to remove it and drain it
Wash it out with kerosene or diesel fuel
Get a junk yard tank to reduce down time
While the tank is out it would be a good idea to unhook the fuel lines and blow compressed air down them to blast out contaminants

Re: Stuff in the Fuel Tank
my car won't start and the people i ask about it range from junk in the gas tank to a bad igniton module. so would that help just like a tune-up cleaning out the gas tank like that. would it help my car just like changing out the plugs wire and dist rotor and stuff.
