85 IROC-Z Question

85 IROC-Z Question

Ok guys im 17 and a noob to cars. So heres my question. I bought a 85 IROC-Z camaro last month and I noticed some problems. When I start it up the exhaust blows a little bit of blue smoke I have no idea why it does it. and also the engine has a small knocking noise in it can somone please help me out with some suggestions i turn 18 next month and want to have this car in good running condition by then to take my driver test in it.

Oh and sorry if this sounds stupid but do 350's come in 5.0 Liter to or only 5.7? Sorry again if these are stupid questions guys.

1. Very common on small block Chevys. It's the valve seals. It's annoying but not a big deal.

2. 305 cubic inch = 5 Liters

350 cubic inch = 5.7L Liters

They are both measurements so 5.0 cannot = 2 different sized liters.

If your 85 is stock, then it has a 305.

The Small Block Chevy (SBC) came in many differn't displacements over the years. 302,305,307,327,350,400. You can also mix and match parts to get a 335,377,383.
