Is my MAF toast?

Hello everyone ill make this simple, getting 88 GTA 5.7 ready for spring, only one thing wrong.

car runs like poop with maf connected (starts for a second, dies/stumbles if given gas). runs great with it disconnected in limp mode. sounds like its sucking way too much air with it connected

Used CRC maf cleaner on it just to make sure, runs the same.

get the following codes:

MAP (Manifold Air Pressure) sensor voltage low - pressure low/vacuum high OR MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor signal low - flow high.
MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor burn-off circuit failure OR fault in direct ignition system OR Missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal.
and also code 54 but i dont think thats related.

Is This definately the MAF gone bad? or could it be a relay (need some help with the relays, possibly an idiot diagram?)

and if it IS the MAF gone bad, anyone know where i can get one for the cheapest? just want it like the stock one dont need any fancy adjustable ones or anything.

Thanks in advance

Re: Is my MAF toast?

First I'd check the wiring, see if any wires are broken or shorted. Check the TPS voltage, clear out the ECM codes, and see what happens. Then if you need to replace the relays first, the MAF absolutely last.

wiring is good, checked it pretty thoroughly, TPS is normal, ill clear the ecm and see if the codes stay the same, and ill probably pick up the relays today and put them in. hopefully its a relay *fingers crossed*

FOLLOW UP:

Picked up 2 new maf relays and put them in, the problem didnt change.
ordered a new micro tech maf from advance auto for ~180 bucks

installed new maf car runs beautifully again, so for reference to anyone searching new maf fixed this.

ALSO was still getting codes but cleared codes after installing and everything is fine now.
