FUEL REGULATOR PROBLEM please help
ok so hear is the deal, my fuel pressure regulator was leaking and had a hole in it so i put a new one in and it ran good for a couple hours while testing the car. then the next day i started it up to take it for another test drive and it had trouble starting and ran real rough. I had to keep on the throttle to keep the car running and it just ran like **** and reaked of gas. so i popped the hood pulled the vacume line off the side of the fuel pressure regulator and gas came out wich means it has a leak again. I took off the FPR and noticed that it had another hole in the diaphram. I figured it was just a faulty diaphram that i replaced. I went out bought another one and the same thing happened again. Now what the hell is going on ? Something is causing the fuel pressure regulators ive bought to go bad really fast. The fuel pressure is set at stock. please help me out.

What does your preasure read on your schrader valve? It should be around 40-45. Maybe your pump has got a problem, although I've never heard of them just jumping off the charts in psi.

Re: FUEL REGULATOR PROBLEM please help
i dont kno man this is confusing. some1 was telling me there could be a kink in the fuel return line and that would make the pressure gradually build and pop a hole in the FPR diaphram.

Re: FUEL REGULATOR PROBLEM please help
The plugged/kinked fuel return line would be my best guess. The only way the whole mess works is by effectivly haveing a controlled bleed off of fuel to the fuel injectors through the pressure regulator. This maintains the proper fuel pressure. The rest of the fuel is circulated back to the tank. If the return line is plugged however the fuel will keep pumping as long as the pumps running and the fuels gotta go somewhere unfortunetly in this case through the FPR diaphram.
