NEED HELP WITH TIMING
i have a 2.6 v6 and i'm wondering about the compression stroke and the exaust stroke..my timing is 10 degrees before tdc right now..but my prob is will it still idle if it is off 180 degrees..other words on the exaust stroke..it will idle fine..press the gas and it chokes it self dead

If you have the distributor in 180 degrees off, it will not run.
The rotor needs to be pointing at the #1 spark plug terminal on the distributor cap when the #1 cylinder is on the compression (or firing) stroke. In other words, as the piston is approaching the top of the cylinder, both the intake and exhaust valve have to be closed; and the rotor should be approaching the #1 spark plug terminal at that time.
