Just bolt it all on and wire it all up. The engines are the same, TPI or not.

Re: old school engine with TPI system?

Any small block chevy from 283 C.I. to 400 C.I. will accept a TPI setup. The only thing that matters is the heads.
The only important thing to know is if you have 1987-up cylinder heads which have valve covers with 4 bolts in the center or if you have pre-1986 cylinder heads which have valve covers with 2 bolts on each side.

The difference between the heads is the bolt pattern on the intake.

So the pre-1986 heads will accept a 1985-1986 TPI
and 1987-up heads will accept 1987-1992 TPI

Use the TPI distributor.

any small block chevy distributor will work but yeah I would definately use the stock TPI Dist. just cuz it came with the TPI, the cam doesnt make a difference.

Re: old school engine with TPI system?

How old are you talking?

As long as it isn't a '55 with no oil filter boss on the block, it will work.

If the TPI is from a 1989 or older Corvette, it will fit older heads.
