Need help with a L69.

Did a teenage move and traded my perfectly fine 4 cylinder Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera S (grocery getter) for a 1985 Trans Am L69 that needed a head gasket changed. Knew that I could change the gaskets and all but broke a lot of vacuum lines and I'm pretty sure I disconnected the coolant lines that run to the heater core. Wondering which vacuum lines I need to get it running. People keep telling me that I need one attached to my distributor but no vacuum line came off of it, it's electrical, same as the quadrajet 4 bbl. Was hoping somone could send me a picture of a complete L69 without the air cleaner assembly on. The appartment complex has put 2 tow stickers on the car already, I need to get it running. I found out that I overtightened the rocker arms. Found out how to do it right. Just need to get it running good enough to get it moving around so it doesn't get towed and I can take it into school to have it worked on. Going to college for Diesel, Truck, and Automotive Technology. Email is Joiner2008@hotmail.com, Thanks.

Re: Need help with a L69.

Forgot to mention, the lines that I believe go to the heater core go straight into the firewall behind cylinder 8. I know from pictures I've found that the lower of the two goes to the water pump. Took out the emission's crap. Clever last minute idea, force air into the exhaust manifold. Took off the AC pump. R12 is supposed to be like $180 a pound. Besides, it has T-tops and I prefer rolling with the windows down. Some people said I was stupid to make this trade but others said I'd be stupid not to because the body of it is in great condition so I did what I wanted and got one of my dream cars. Eventually, I plan to turn the motor into a 335 stroker, yeah, yeah, here come the skeptics with the whole go with a 350, but that's the reason I'm going to build a 335, because no one does. I consider it a challenge and now want to make a 335 that's better than.....non-professionally modified 350s.

Re: Need help with a L69.

If it still has the factory distributor, then you are correct, there is no vacuum hose, as it is computer controlled, as is the carburetor (you can ID the computer controlled carb by the blue two-wire plug on the top passenger side of the carb).

Here is a vacuum hose diagram that the car would have come with. This should help you get it all sorted out, or at least give you a good start.
