Oil leak from dipstick
Ok here is my problem, I just bought a '88 IROC and it has oil spurting from the dipstick and down onto my headers. When I was in auto tech school, we had a chevelle that did the same thing, and it turned out to be excessive blow by.
I am going to replace my PCV valve tomorrow to see if that helps. Also the top of the dipstick is cracked, which doesn't help the problem. Does anyone else know of something that would cause this? I hope I don't have to do a rebuild yet. Im planning on it, but not until I get some money stashed away.
Thanks!

Re: Oil leak from dipstick
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Check the PCV valve AND the line that goes to the intake- make sure it's not plugged up. Also, check the PCV system's fresh air line that goes from valve cover to the TB for blockage as well (assuming this is a TPI engine).
Make sure the oil level isn't too high as well. (Correct dipstick??)
But if you're getting a lot of blow-by it'll still try to puke out the dipstick when you get on it.

also if it still does it the baffle in the valve cover for the PCV may be clogged with crap take it off and clean it out with gas or parts cleaner
also spray some sea foam or carb cleaner through the PCV line that goes to the TB
