need help

I am building a 350 using Diamond Forged pistons that are .030 and are dome. friend has them for 100 bucks and there in good shape. i have 2 sets of heads layin around. i looked up the compression ratio and it will be 10.7 to 1 with a 76cc head. i have a set of 993s and 882s. both need to be cleaned and valve springs put on them for my cam. my cam has only about .510 lift. what mods to the heads will i have to have done. i already have springs to use. i just need to know what i need to have done besides that to run a cam with that lift. and what set is better to use the 993s or 882s?

Either one of those heads is best used as a door stop or boat anchor.

World S/R Torquers, Sportsman II's, most any aftermarket 76cc chamber head would be better.

Re: need help

yeah but i would rather use either of those sets of heads because i would rather save money up and get a set of 64cc aluminum heads for a future build with flat tops or something. but anyways will i just need to get screw in studs or will i have to have hardened seats put in also?

Re: need help

Then you should have saved the $100 bucks you spent and put them towards a a set of 64cc alum's with flat tops.

882's/993's are crap. Period. Paint a turd, it's still a turd. But if you're insistent on using them, you'll also have to have the valve guides milled down. Screw in studs would be wise, or at least pin the studs.

Re: need help

Here is a few pictures of the pistons. does anyone think i could get away with 72cc aluminum heads and be able to run 93 octane?
