84 z28 5.0 HO 305

i have a 84 z28 5.0 HO 305 camaro. the only issue with it is that it wont start. it cranks over and pops here and ther but it refuses to start. i think that it isnt getting enough fuel and if thats the case how can i fix that. also what might the other problems be?

Spill a little gas into the top of the carb, maybe 1/3 of a cup. Then see if it starts. If it does and then stops you'll know if it's the fuel. You can also take off the fuel line and hold the cup under the line and have a buddy turn the motor over while you watch to see if fuel is coming out.

Any work done to it that would require the distributor to be removed? If so timing might be off if the distributor was not put back in correctly.

A third of a cup of gasoline is WAAAAAYYYYY too much. A teaspoon would be more like it.
