What Can I use To Lubricate The Throttlebody?
I just went outside, adjusted the TV cable and took the car out for a spin.
It shifts PERFECT now. Nice little bump at normal driving conditions. No more holding the same gear at 3/4 or more throttle. However, I now have a new problem.
Yesterday, I did the IAC adjustment. Car idles much smoother now, but after pulling the screw back some, the throttle body does not come to rest on it all the way when you let off slowly. Releasing the throttle body, or gas pedal suddenly will cause it to come all the way to rest and allow the car to idle at about 600 RPM. However, slowly letting off causes the throttlebody to stop about 1/8 inch short of the IAC screw, which causes the car to idle at about 1000 RPM (It actually hit 1500 tonightat idle). When in the car, repeatedly raising the gas pedal and letting it fall back into place by placing your foot under it and lifting it up will cause the idle to fall back down, except when you do this it sometimes idles down to about 3 or 400 to the point where It's about to stall and struggles there, until you tap the pedal.
This problem is getting quite annoying
as tonight I accidentally shifted into D with the engine at about 1200 and scared the crap outta myself when the car jumped.
I'm not trying to tear my tranny apart or have a crappy idle. Can something as simple as WD-40 be used to lubricate the throttlebody "axle"?

I'd try some white lithium grease, it should last longer than WD-40. I had the same problem too, I would up putting a carb-style throttle return spring from the TB linkage to the TB cable bracket.
