Re: how to make my car faster???
The first things i'd try are higher CR pistons and better heads. It doesn't sound like a street car... so you don't even need to run pump gas, so you can have a much higher CR. Fuelie heads are good, but outdated. I'd recommend vortec heads, just over $500 for an assembled pair. Or, if you have a bigger budget, there's a lot more options for heads out there...
That carb sounds great for that motor... If you decide to get rid of it, let me know.

really??? most people are telling me the carb is too big, and that I should go with a 750 or 650 since the car is making about 480hp. should I run race fuel on it them yeah the car is not a street car but i still take it out to get attention lol.

yeah, i'd keep the carb, especially if you want to run in the 10's. Race fuel would help you if you get a higher CR. Have a local airport you can get gas from? Remember, it isn't street legal gas. If you start changing things, like heads, you might need a different cam. Someone else could give you better advice on that, though.

Re: how to make my car faster???
march makes a good kit for underdriving an sbc with an elec water pump. thats good for another 10 maybe 15 hp. do you have a cid ignition box?? if ya dont get one if your not in the budget to get different heads try match porting them to the exhaust and intake. also the carb is a gine size but you could try working with diff power valves maybe tweak the air fuel and the ignition curve to try and pull soem more power out

You are going to need better heads, higher compression, and a bigger cam. To drop 1 second off your ET will require around 100 more HP.
I would shoot for heads the flow in the low 300 CFM range at .600 lift, 11.5 to 1 compression (so you can run pump gas), and a cam with a power band from 3500 to 7000 RPM.

what are your 11 second times now? what ET, what 60 foots and what trap speeds. give 1/8 and 1/4 mile if you can
that will roughly give an idea of what your making now and where you need to go
to crack 10's you should have 450whp or darn close on a great launch and low weight. That car gutted shouldnt be all that heavy so your doing good there.
those heads are definatley holding you back. A nice set of heads with a smaller chamber to get compression up to 11 to 1 or more, your should see nice gains even with that cam you currently have.
roller cam conversion with good heads so you can run .600 lift or so to take advantage of most good aftermarket heads should be considered to help make that car more driveable and to make more power in the first place. Rollers are smoother operating than tappets
