91 Camaro AC Clutch Problem

I have a 91 camaro with a strange AC problem, my clutch kicks out often, and for long periods of time. The only way to get it to kick back on is to rev the engine up, or if the car is moving sometimes going from overdrive to drive will get it to come back on at least for a while. Also if the car is idling with the hood up you can tap the clutch with a screwdriver and it will engage at least for a few minutes. The AC compressor is only about 5 months old. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Re: 91 Camaro AC Clutch Problem

Sounds like you may have a defective AC clutch. Or, maybe not enough voltage getting to it. I don't know for sure what voltage you are supposed to get. I have a '91 Camaro with AC. If I didn't just break my volt meter I would check mine and let you know what mine has.
