Looking to get 300+hp out of 350 5.7L.... Possible?
I just purchased a 1987 Camaro Iroc - Z28. Originial motor was a 305 5.0l however hte previous owner had the engine replaced with a 350 5.7L crate engine. I know everything was done at a Chevrolet Dealership so the work was done right and I have all the paperwork on it. I believe there is only like 30,000 miles on it so fairly new. I am looking to get some nice power out of the vehicle. As of right now the only mods that were done was a Holley Throttle Body and a 3" Performance Exhaust which was done when the engine was replaced. Other than that I believe everything is stock. If I read everything correctly and informatino is correct the 350 should have like 215-225hp stock.. I am trying to boost that to at least 300hp at the wheels.. I want this car to fly lol... I have heard that headers and cam was the way to get some nice power.. just wondering if someone could help point me in the right direction as far as brands and model numbers.. I am on somewhat of a budget.. The most I am looking to throw into performance mods (at least for now) is about 1,000-1500 tops. I would appreciate any help you guys could give. Axle/Gears: moser 9" 3.90

patriot freedom heads and a cam you'll be over 300hp and about right on budget after gaskets etc...
