Serpentine Solution...anyone?

I've been looking at the gnarly bracket that is going back on the passenger side of my serpentine SBC. A big bracket, smog delete pulley, and a/c delete pulley. I can't help but ask myself why? It would be SO much cleaner if that whole thing could be left off.

I would almost rather have a v-belt setup.

Has anyone (besides March and their $$ pulley system) invented a better solution?

Otherwise, anyone have a v-belt setup they want to part with?

Not to mention the fact I think I'm going to have issues. I'm using older style heads and I don't think they have enough bolt holes to accommodate the serpentine brackets... Doh.

I'm not really too familiar with the serpentine setup, but I know they put that big idler in place of the a/c for the tensioner to work. If you could find an alternate spot to fit that tensioner, or create a new possibly manual tensioner, the problem would be solved.

Re: Serpentine Solution...anyone?

Did this years ago. Try and keep up.
BTW my whole serpintine setup is for sale. Also have a big brand new cs144 alternator with the special adapter bracket you need if interested.
