Roller Cam Thust Plate Retaining Bolt Torque ?

Hi Guys,

Presently working on a Cam upgrade.

I looked at both the factory service manual and the threads and could not find any information about the specified bolt torque for the following:

Roller Cam Thrust Plate ( Cam Retainer) Bolt (Torx) Torque.

1987 Block.

Any ideas?

Best Regards,

Bruce

Thanks for the response.

Shall I use a thread locker? Red or Blue?

Thrust plate Number : GM 10088128 : For TPI

Thrust Plate Bolt Number : GM 14093637

Best Regards,

Bruce

If you torque a fastener properly, it doesn't need thread locker.

I'd use some blue threadlocker on it. No harm in using it, and the last thing you need is those backing out.

Thanks Guys,

Yes, this fastener is somewhat small.

Relative to the cam bolts, not much clamping force.

Too bad GM did not provide a torque specification.

Best Regards,

Bruce

Hi Guys,

Just talked to LPE.

LPE looked-up the GM torque settings for this bolt.

Torque = 12 NM or 106 inch-pounds.

Install with red threadlocker.

Best Regards,

Bruce
