Re: help with firebird
First guess, flooded or lean. If it's flooded, holding the pedal to the floor while cranking should clear it.
If it's lean (low fuel pressure) spraying some carb cleaner into the intake to supplement what the injectors are providing should make it run.
Less likely but also possible, weak spark.

Re: help with firebird
I don't know enough about this circuit to explain, but I recall reading about the oil pressure switch providing a signal to the fuel pump relay. The circuit acts differently during cranking & if the switch doesn't see oil pressure after running it will drop out the fuel pump relay and shut engine down - checking fuel pump pressure during the start sequence may help you diagnose. Sorry for being so vague, but maybe someone can explain this circuit better.

Re: help with firebird
Could be a bad MAP sensor, they won't always throw a code. Be sure to check the vacuum line to the MAP sensor to make sure the sensor has not come apart inside and plugged the hose.

Re: help with firebird
Sounds like low fuel pressure. plugged filter and/or bad pump.
Dissconnect the fuel return hose and jump power to the fuel pump prime connector. Fuel should shoot out the return line (be prepared for it). If it does not and you hear the pump running, chances are good your pump is toast.

Re: help with firebird
Fuel pump prime connector is a short red wire with a black connector hanging off of the Fuel Pump Relay. Conecting 12V battery power (being cautios not to cause sparks near the battery) causes the fuel pump to run.

Just disconnect the fuel return line and turn the key to "On". This should only be done with 2 people, anyway. No open sparks with an open fuel line.
