base timing/ vaccum ?

on a stock tbi305 whats the manifold vaccum supposed to be at idle engine hot? im getting 22 with a autometer mechanical? should it be lower?

second question...
can you adjust timing with these cars using vaccum as a parameter, the vehicle im working on doesnt have a timing tab? reason im asking is because of the computer controlled advance... etc.

any help would be awesome!
thanks
Luke

22 inHg is fine at idle with a stock cam.

I would recommend buying a cheap timing pointer, and making sure it reads correct. All you have to do is take out the #1 plug and use a popsicle stck or something kind of soft to make sure it's close.
