before I pop a wheelie? Power is good, but only if you can keep it on the ground.
PS. a little wheelie is fine, but I don't want to be looking at the sky.
Sorry for the low flying n00b question.

there isnt a "pop a wheelie hp/tq number" it depends on alot like suspension setup, tires, front end weight, yadda yadda yadda. you could take a modified car that lifts the front end and put the motor in the same style car but if they arent setup similar it wont pull the wheels.

There are 12 second cars that can easily pop a wheelie and then there are cars like mine running into the 9's that have a hard time pulling the front wheels. I can carry my front wheels about a foot high for about 20 feet or so.
It's all about weight transfer, torque and traction. It doesn't take much to get the left front wheel slightly off the ground on a launch but it's not going to happen with a lot of factory driveline parts.
The "looking at sky" wheelies takes a lot of work. Third gens are very nose heavy so it's not as easy as it looks.

That's an annoying video but the few that were pulling wheelies were probably all in excess of 800HP, tube chassis and back halved cars. Maybe not all but most.
