your POV on my future plans
I guess I'll post the question first: Do I go cheapo heads on the street motor, or swap heads and put big $ heads on the race motor?
What I'm looking to do is move my current motor to a much lighter car and probably go turbo instead of Procharger. I'd then build a more streetable motor for the Camaro with leftover parts I have. These extra parts are: pistons, hyd. roller cam 222/230 .509/.528, roller lifters, pushrods, valve springs, distributor, intake, and carb. My main concern is the heads. My one option is to just get a cheap set for the street motor, which I'd still like aluminums. Plans are to use 1.7 rockers to bump those cam lift numbers to .577/.598. I've seen a set of pro comps that seem like a good deal around $700 assembled set 210cc runners. The other option would be to get a set of something like AFR 227's or Dart Pro 1's for around $1600 for the race motor, and swap the current heads on that over to the street motor. I'm not sure if the gains on the race motor are going to be good enough to justify the extra $900. With the street motor, I'm still looking to get as close to 500fwhp as I can n/a with the possibility of some juice in the far future.
