i am tuning my car right now and not sure what the compression would be, i dont have a compression checker. i know my motor came with 9.7 to 1 compression ratio but then i put thicker multi layer steel head gaskets on it.
Compressed thickness .041"
Compressed volume 9.0cc

Re: compression ratio

It won't have changed much. The only way to know what it is for sure is to disassemble the engine and measure, but I'm sure you don't care enough to do that.

Re: compression ratio

If that. There's more variability in stock compression ratios due to manufacturing tolerances than you've introduced with a slightly different head gasket.

Why do you need to know the compression ratio?

Re: compression ratio

Re: compression ratio

Ah, anywhere in the ballpark is ok then. They're just going take a wild guess at what your car needs anyway.
