Car wont start
I have a problem. I have a 89 Firebird Formula 305 TPI 5-speed that won't start. This car isn't my DD. It basically just sits there in front of my house. My daily driver is an RX8, and fun, but I miss the bird. Anyway, this summer I replaced the radiator, water pump, and heater core. After, when I tried to start it, the car just made a grinding noise. I figured the starter was bad. Took out the starter, took it to advanced, and they replaced it under warranty (just bought it 3 yrs ago). I just put the new starter in, took the battery off the charger, turn the key, and "click"..... thats it. In the past when it did this, I discovered the clutch safety switch was bad, so I took it off and just twisted the wires together ( I was stuck in the middle of nowhere). So, with the wires twisted, it shouldn't be that... but I don't know what else to check. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the battery is good. I charged it for several hours until it said 100%, and the needle in the car was in the middle, which is normal. The battery is less than 2 yrs old. It is an Everstart Maxx.

heres a trick i used when i was younger . it will save u ALOT of time. if your cars a stick make sure its in nuetral and wheels blocked. jack your car up on the starter side. take you jumper cables or a wrench. and jump the connections on your starter. make sure you don't touch body ground. the main power cable and the small red gauge that kicks on your starter. if it cranks just fine ,then its a problem with your starter wire(smaller red on) . if it does the same thing, then theres an issue with the thick guage red wire from there to the battery. this will eliminate everthing under the hood it could be.
