heat shield/insulation for fuel lines...'85 Z28
Hey all!
didn't see another place to post this in, so here goes...
Having a fuel temp issue on my '85 Z28.
This isn't a stock car so bear this in mind.......I'm using Edelbrock's T.E.S. headers, great item, works beautifully with the hopped-up lump between the fenders...LOL
The problem, however, is that the passenger-side collector, wher it meets the supplied Y-pipe, comes VERY close to the factory steel gas lines that transition up the frame rail from under the car into the engine compartment.
The gas is literally BOILING in the Performer carb by the time the engine has ran, under load, for 5 minutes.
The heat from the exhaust is obviously the issue, and some sort of herat shield/line insulator is needed to fix this problem.
Any suggestions?

Just to add, the coolant temps are nominal, and the oil temps/PSI are good.

The factory had such a problem with exhaust heating the gasoline that they discontinued the carb 350 in one year model.
If you're sure it's the header heating the gas line then there are 2 options:
Slide this down the length of the fuel line. Or:
If there are multiple lines use this attached with these.
The tough part will be installing it with the header in place (clearance).
