I have a 92 RS. Swaped to a 350. Wieand street blower, edlebrock 600 carb. Changed the Fuel filter, carb is getting enough pressure. Car will start and run ALL DAY but when I drive it if I give it a little gas It dies. But then after like 2 minutes it will start right back up!! Someone please shed some light on this for me before I give up on it.

do you have stock exhaust with the cat? maybe it cant breath.
what type of fuel pump do you have? sounds like pump is weak once under pressure, or vapor lock.

not sure about the blower but next time it does that get under the hood and try smell the carb. see if your getting to much gas maybe not enough, check your timing, did this start when you installed these parts or just out of the blue? i heard having a blower can cause major issues if your motors not built for it.

i dont know any of the specs of your engine, but a 600cfm carb seems rather small on a blown 350... besides that here are a few things off the top of my head...

does it rev freely either in park or with foot on the clutch?

if so, i would watch fuel pressure as you increase rpm's and see what that does... if it drops really low, that could be your problem. what fuel pump do you have?

there is also a remote chance that if you have a cat it may be partially or totally clogged.

how did it run when you got it? was it already blown?


you probably could post something similar on the carb board, because it seems like some different people frequent over there.

Is the carb giving a decent pump-shot when you open the throttle? It should happen EXACTLY when the throttle is moved - any later and it will stumble or potentially die on you.

Clogged converter is a possibility too - does the cat glow after its been running awhile?
