mechanical roller/solid roller cam questions

looking into a future project. I think im going to convert to a mechanical roller cam.

what is the difference between a solid roller and a mechanical roller car? are they the same thing? I have a late model factory roller block, hydraulic. The new roller lifters will drop in the block with out machining right?
now how often do you really need to check lash on these cams with good poly locks and stud girdles?
i assume i would have to check for different length pushrods too? and upgraded springs would come with the new heads.
Do i have to worry about cam clearance with a long stroke in this late model block?

this is the one im currently looking at, planning 1.6 rockers, is that an issue? It would go in my 406, i have 10.44-1 comp, does that matter? is it sufficient?

and on another note, i currently have 66cc heads, if i used 76cc what would my new comp be?
thanks

Re: mechanical roller/solid roller cam questions

Mechanical = Solid

Same thing, different name.

How often adjustments are required depends on the cam, how often you drive it, and how you drive it. Most modern solid cams are pretty decent as far as adjustment intervals go - much better than the old solid lifter cams from the 60s and 70s.
