Edlebrock Intake Manifold

Ok i read in the tech article on the website that manifolds for 86-prior, will fit a 95 block, all you have to do is enlarge 4 holes, is this correct? I dont want to buy a intake and not have it work.

Re: Edlebrock Intake Manifold

You can make it work but you would be better off buying the right manifold.

Re: Edlebrock Intake Manifold

You will have to make some wedges to correct the angle the bolts will be at.

Re: Edlebrock Intake Manifold

You can buy the right beveled washers, but then you're right back where you started...

Vortec heads require a Vortec-specific manifold, not an '86-earlier manifold.

'95 heads aren't Vortec.

What heads are you using?

Re: Edlebrock Intake Manifold

193 heads are just swirlports. They're great heads, a lot of torque and great gas mileage, but they are definitely not meant to make any kind of serious horespower at all. If you're okay with that that's fine, but I just wanted to point that out before you went through a lot of extra trouble to make them work.

Re: Edlebrock Intake Manifold

Im fine with the heads for now, maybe when i get in my porting class, i will P&P them. I just wanted to get a carbed intake for it but if i could just make 4 holes alil bit larger and not have to pay $40 more for a 1995 performer intake, then thats what i was gonna do. Will i need the wedges?
