HELP!! 92 Firebird

k ive had it 4 2 weeks and yesterday it conked out at a red light...today it lost throttle response oil gauge dropped to 0 brakes got hard like when u pump it when the cars off and power steering went out...had to coast into parking lot slamming on the breaks!....fiinally cranked started smelling like a sweet burning rubber smell? cant describe it! lol but it started spitting out black smoke like a bihh! but we have no clue whats goin on but please help if you can again its a 92 firebird! thnks! =[

Black smoke is usually to much fuel. Is it TPI or TBI. I am guessing TPI by the year. Getting the codes would be the best starting point, then checking injectors and the regulator. If that isn't it, than hopefully someone who messes with FI a little more than me will post.

i got it! it was the coolant temp sensor...yeah so little but we changed that and the plugs...fouled them out getting it home..=P but its running amazing now!
