No more spark.

Yesterday I slapped on a performer RPM manifold and a few other little things to go with it. I torqued everything properly but i had one bolt on my manifold in the center that wouldnt go in becuase the bolt was too big and just hit the manifold. I used fel-pro gaskets and went with there instructions, I used black RTV sealant for the front and back and let it harden over night. All fasteners have thread sealant on them. Edlebrock decided that they would postion there rear vacuum port so clost to the carb that my holley goes right over it so i had to plug it disabling my brake boost witch is now plugged. I put my distributor back on and got #1 on TDC then i aligned my rotor to the #1 nipple put on my cap replaced the spark plugs and plugged everything back in now i have absolutly no spark and the car will not start. i had one wire that came from my alternator that i accidentally snapped in half but I'm not absolutly sure that its the right one becuase there are wires everywhere but I touch them i hear a tick noise in my firewall. Does anyone know what could be happening? will the brake booster affect anything? besides the brakes? thanks guys

Re: No more spark.

your brake booster is not causing the no spark problem. The wire from the alt that you broke is. even if the manifold leaked and the distributor was in wrong it should still spark. Check your wiring and make sure your ground straps were put back on.

Re: No more spark.

I found the problem, the two small plugs that go in the front of the plug on the cap were old ones from a diffrent engine. The engine is running really good now, the performer RPM really woke it up and now i dont have a weird idle. I also found a super easy way to install the distributor and aligning the oil pump that ive never seen anyone do before. Usually you would use a screw driver and try to get it down in the hole to twist it and it takes like an hour so i figured if i just bump the starter once the cam is locked with the distributor it will fall right in the hole and it did from there i just lined up my #1 nipple with the mark i made on the dist base took me about 10 minutes and I'm a novice.

Bah, cheater! You have to do it the hard way, and lose 2-3 layers of skin and a pint of blood or else it's not an accomplishment!

The RPM really woke 'er up eh ? Rock on! We'll have to have a race before you dump the car.

haha, Ya It gave me a bit more power in the seat, now i just need to put your stuff on and a smaller quiter exhuast and she'll purr. I think my true dual 3 1/2" hillbilly exhuast is holding me back in the top end.

Ya almost, It's waaaay too loud, like I mean I can't have a conversation or listen to music in my car plus it was built really bad and thats all you can see from the side of my car and it burns my paint. I'm gunna get a flowmaster 40 delta flow and hooker shorties and just fab up a cheap single piped 3" with a turn down just before the rear end. everytime i get out of my car my ears have a really wicked ring that doesnt go away for like 2 hours. And ya it is a true dual it doesnt have a "y" pipe, it has cast iron logs then about 4' of pipe off each side with a 20" old *** glass packs all rusted to **** and leaking. Also saw some really wicked third gens out there today.
