If you follow the tubes coming from your fuel rails they kinda turn down in front of your engine, and there's some connections there, you can un-hook those and maybe drain the fuel out of the lines like that.

My car had sat for about 6 years and some really ugly looking stuff came out of the return line at first.

To flush mine out, I disconnected the return line at the tank (behind driver's rear wheel). I pushed a rubber hose onto the metal line and put the loose end in a container to catch the fuel. I then turned the key on and off a few times to flush it out (actually I used the fuel-pump priming connection to make it run). Flushed it till clean gas came out.

After that, I determined how sad my fuel tank and pump situation really was. Had I any idea, I wouldn't even have turned the key on. I pulled my tank and put a new one in, along with a new filter, pump and sending unit. I put five gallons of new fuel in and a can of seafoam. This is where I flushed the fuel system out til clean fuel came out the return line.
I then cranked it up and it started, that's when I discovered that I needed a new A.I.R. pump. After fixing that, I started it again and lightly tapped the sticking injectors till all were ticking and the engine smoothed out. Since then it's been running nicely.

Re: How to drain the fuel line in a 1987 GTA
i had an old 1980 chevy monza that had sat for 15 years and had a 4 cyl engine and we put a new battery in filled up the tires and Poured some gas down the carburetor and cranked it and after about fifteen minutes we decided to jump start it plus the new battery and it started after a couple of cranks. it was awesome! haha but before i could drive it more than a mile of course i had to replace the tires, belts, clutch cable, flush the fuel lines, replace all filters and fluids. so just to get it started is fairly easy if you know how but getting it running well and then driving is a lot more work! hope this helped might want to check the starter too!
