Manifold Question

I have a 1987 Formula with the 305 LG4 (carb). I went to the local Pontiac dealer to get replacement heater hoses and radiator hoses. I was told the AC hoses are no longer available. I can pretty much get after market hoses at Autozone, rockauto, etc. I am having trouble with one hose. The one heater hose is 3/4" and it runs from the water pump to the heater core. It has a T in it and a smaller hose that runs to a nipple on the back of the manifold. This hose is 1/2" at the T connection then it curves toward the firewall and then bends down to the manifold. At the manifold it is 3/8". I have not been able to locate the hose. Worst case scenario is I cannot get the hose or fab one, can I just plug that hole on the manifold without causing any problems? The car is not a daily driver and sees less than 1,000 miles per year.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Manifold Question

Thanks for the response. What is the purpose of that hose? I believe someone had written in the archives that the hose was to eliminate hot spots in the manifold? Is that correct? If not what was the purpose?
