Really bad clunking
When I am driving my car some times it like jerks/kicks and it only seems to do this when it shifts out of gear the RPMs drop (bogs out), and when I put the petal to the floor it just sits there (RPMs don't move) and the rear of the car jerks back and forth there for jerking the whole car back and forth. I can kick it out but the second I let off the gas it does it all over again, also this is a on and off thing some days I don't have a problem. What could be causing this to happen?
I have mention this on the board before but never got much help. But what ever this is it is getting worse.

Re: Really bad clunking
As a matter of a fact, I had a very similar issue with my POS 1998 ford Taurus last year. Once in a while when trying to shift from second to third, the car would jerk, shift, then keep jerking like hell, no matter how hard i pushed on the gas after the shift, the RPM would simply not move at all, the car would not accelerate, so i'd have to let go of the gas, let it downshift and try it again. It got worse and worse until the car could no longer pass third gear and rev over 3000 RPM. It seemed as if it was an issue with both the engine and the transmission. I got a junker for 400$, took the tranny, had it installed and it works just fine now. Not sure if my description matches what your car does but to me, sounded the same.

also the clunking from mine seens to be coming from the rear end, and its done it since I bought the car but before it only seemed to to it when it was under load like going up hill or punching it I suppose all the abuse I gave that car made it worse LOL.

Yeah, going uphill was really dirty, it would never shift going uphill and I'd lose a ton of speed so i'd have to make sure i was past that gear before going uphill.
I'd get the tranny checked or just find another one, whichever is cheaper.
