ANY ONE RUN A SET OF 1971 #487 HEADS
I have a 1979 350 4 bolt casting # 14016379 that has low miles . I was going to do a top end build on it . I had a set of 1970 #186 Fuelly heads 64cc 194/150 . But after removing the valve's I found cracks . These head would have been nice to bump the C/R . Well now I am on a tight Budget no OT at work . But I have a set of 1971 350 245HP #487 heads 76cc with 194/150 valves . I was going to port them out and install Z-28/LT1 springs . Also run a .016 head gasket to give that dished piston 350 a bit more C/R 8.75.1 maybe ? And I want to run a Speed-pro cam #CS1169R . This cam is 218 dur at 050 with 458 lift and has a 110 C/L . Also for the intake I have a Edelbrock #2101 Dual plane with a 750CFM Q-Jet carb . And a curved out HEI Dist with 1"5/8 long tube headers . Like to make 350 HP . I think this is all the cam I can run with that C/R and no screw in studs . Any one do a 350 build like this ?

i have one pretty similar...355..9.5:1 pistons..stock cranks and rods... edelbrock .510 lift cam( that really helped)...487 heads that were mildly pocket ported.but other then that stock..performer rpm intake and 650 holley...i had it in a 1989 firebird...stock rear end 3.42 gear...3800 stall and no pulleys ran a 12.7 @ 109mph in the quarter

On your #487 heads are you running the 194/150 valves . And did you change the pressed in rocker studs ? That cam in a bit big . But the 3800 stall helps . Is that the car on your Avatar . COOL Post a bigger photo .
