Alright ya know how you test the tps with a voltmeter and its .54v at idle and increases to about 4.5v at WOT?? well my buddies car is doing the exact opposite, reading 4.7 volt at idle and decreasing to .8v at WOT. Hes been having problems with a dead spot so i decided to check the tps, we switched it to two diff ones and same thing happens. could it be something wrong with the harness??

 

do you have the volt meter leads in terminals a and b? never seen 1 do this,later jimmy

 

yep, i havent either, i cant explain it other than the harness being messed up somehow?? either that or we have 3 really messed up tps's but what are the chances of that

 

look i just googled it ,they say to run a ground wire from throttle body to a ground and reset it and it will read correctly .you can go to www.google.com put in tps reading backwards,it will pull it up go in first or second article ,later jimmy

 

yeah im not fully understanding what that guy was trying to say. I also read that i should try switching the wires. How the hell could they got reversed in the first place is a mystery, ill do that tommorow morning and see what happens.

 

i have a 91 transam,305 tpi.my wiring is;black (top) blue (middle) white(bottom)on my tps.i hope you get it fixed,later jimmy
