upgrading non cc hei summit dizzy
Well when i first go the summit hei dizzy it seemed to be fine but i only set intial timing and never took a look at the advance one day i took my advance light and with 12 intial i barely had 28 at 4000rpms? Is the summit dizzy have such strong springs in it that it still doesnt have full advance at 4k or is something wrong with the centrigual weight advance. ive read the gm hei comes factory with 20 cent adv so if i set it at 12 intial it should be 32? also is there anyway you can modify the dizzy to have 8 intial 34 total and have it all come it at about 2800?

Take the springs off and try it. You should get full advance at idle.
I'm not familiar with the details of the Summit distributor, but you should be able to see how they limit the total advance. Probably a bushing.
