OIL PAN FOR STROKER
What pan's are you guys running with a set of shorty headers with y-pipe? Years back I ran a moroso 7qt pan but I had to flatten the crossover pipe to the drivers header because it wouldn't fit between the pan and the crossmember. Don't want to run into this problem again as I want to keep "stock" type echaust with headers and a catback. Don't want to go smashing pipes again. I need it to clear a 383 stroker as well.
note: I need it for a driver's side dipstick block as well.

Re: OIL PAN FOR STROKER
Hmmmm every place I call tells me I am out of luck. I have an older drivers side dipstick 2pc seal block and while the pand I have fits the 82-92 chassis.....the stock exhaust will not work because there is literally only about 2" between the sump and the x-member where the exhaust would run. It's not even a kicked out sump....just a deep sump 7 qt pan.

Re: OIL PAN FOR STROKER
I also used a Moroso 7qt and had to smash the crossover to an oval shape. I found a pan at summit that would work great it had a deep sump but if you looked from the side it looked like a c in front for the exaust to fit. Searched for 15min and i cant find it, but its there somewhere. How did you guys prevent the exaust from heating up the oil in the pan, mabey its a misguided worry but i wrapped mine with header tape hopefully thats enough.

Did I already post this for you once?

Along with the Moroso flat windage tray http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=MOR%2D23020 and stock GM main studs. http://www.sdparts.com/product/14087...eTrayStud.aspx You need 5, IIRC.
Note that it holds 5 quarts, making your total system 6 quarts (5 in the pan, 1 in the filter).
I ran that exact setup in my car for many years; with the stock L69 Y-pipe, then Edelbrock TES, then SLP. Fits fine with all of them, no alteration whatsoever required to anything.
