Follow me to the dark side.... Solid flat tappet, Isky Z-25, or even Z-27.

Re: cam opion?

hard to go wrong with a Isky cam. You have everything you need to step up to a Isky Z-27 cam. Exhaust needs work thou.
Steve87iroc is getting great results with this cam in his motor. The modest reasonable net valve lift is nice as the valvetrain will last and last and last.
Your heads are no the "twisted wedge" heads right?

Re: cam opion?

I typed "Z-27" into summit to find it, pretty easy...

It's a straight pattern.

I wouldn't use a hydraulic cam when you get up to this size.

Re: cam opion?

A good bit more than you have now. with the new converter and some tweeking and tuning a solid 12sec performer.
You did not answer my question about your heads. it is critical.

Re: cam opinion?

It's hard to say. Really hard to throw a number out there.
More than what you have now is a safe bet.
Your Z-cam now is similar to the comp xe268H isn't it? That's exactly what i'm replacing with my Z-25

Re: cam opinion?

I think that solid cam is *barely* streetable.
It's quite aggressive. I'm not going to be driving mine through traffic or anything. I don't think i'll be needing a vacuum can for the brakes or anything though.

Mine is at my house now, waiting to be installed. Won't be driving it until may or so, so I can't tell you how it performs yet.
