Vortec heads,performer rpm gasket question!
Hey, I am using gmpp vortec heads and a performer rpm vortec intake, i ordered "vortec" head gaskets from summit, and they where off. Im on a tight budget, and i cant be ordering parts and having them be wrong any more, Will eddelbrocks gaskets for the performer rpm work? I know they have the E-tec so it may be different. What gaskets are you using?

Use the felpro composite gaskets meant for use with the stock vortecs and tighten the intake bolts to 11 ft-lbs. Most autoparts stores carry them. Ive used these without issue with my vortec RPM airgap manifold. Ive found that with the paper ones the intake bows somewhat under the higher loads needed to compress the paper ones and causes slight leaks.

Stock Vortec gaskets here. Hard plastic with the rubber o-ring inserts around the various ports. 12 ft/lbs max, as was mentioned above (think: screwdriver-tight). Just enough to flatten the o-rings, and no more (becuase it won't seal any better if you tighten further and you could crack the hard plastic and CAUSE leaks).
