Starter issues
Ok, I just finished swaping in a 350 TPI into a 305TBI car and got the wiring done. Everything seems to be hooked up right but I'm have starter issues that I haven't found an answer for yet.
We tried to turn the car over and it started turning but when the key was turned off the car kept turning over and the negative battery cable got real hot real fast. I had the starter tested and Autozone said it was good. So my next thoughts are it's either with the grounding on it or its the ignition switch.
Someone told me that the starter may need shimmed cause it might be to tight on the flywheel and its locking it into position but I shimmed it and am still having the same problem.
Anyone had this problem before or have any ideas what would cause this?
Thanks for any help
