I got these scuff marks on the journals of my crank I took a picture of one. I can see them visibly but they feel just as smooth as the rest of the journal. I'm just wondering if they will be a problem?

what kind of application?(DD, race only?) for your daily driver if you dont feel anything with your fingrnail install and go. for a race app just have it repolished.

I'd leave it.
If you want, try to find some 1000grit emery cloth, and lube it with ATF and give it a quick polish.

All I could find at ACE was 1500 grit it jumped from 600 to 1500... So I got the 1500. Should I just sand the spots or all of the journal?

do like mentioned about the trany fluid but wrap the cloth completely around the journal, take a shoelace with a single wrap around that and spin buff by alternating string pulls.

Chances are you'll be just fine, even without any additional polishing. I put some slight nicks in my crank trying to remove it with the pistons/rods still in the motor. I took the crank to the machine shop to have it polished again. They put it on a lathe and spent all of 5 minutes with some emery to polish it back up. When he got done, I could still see some slight marks from the nicks, but nothing you could catch a nail on. I asked if it would be a concern, and my machinist said it'll be just fine. Your "scuff" marks are a lot less visible than the nick marks on my crank, so you shouldn't have any problems. The bearings are a lot softer than the crank journals, and they'll conform to slight irregularities without causing any harm. In fact, if you use the new bi-metal, alecular alloy engine bearings that King and Federal-Mogul offer, they actually claim these bearings can polish the journals, and have fantastic embeddability as well. After reading about these bearings, I replaced the Clevite 77's with the Federal-Mogul bearings when I re-installed the crank.
